If a candidate for a job in your company doesn't have the right educational and professional backgrounds but LOVES your business, then you should go for it because that kind of candidate is not feeling like he is working when he (or she) takes care of business.
Instead he feels like he is living the dream. If he's got the job of his life and enjoys what he does then he will be good at it and be willing to learn the ropes and do the extra mile.


Think twice before rejecting a job seeker. Find out if he is an ambassador of your company products, if he is but doesn't have the required skills, keep him on your list.


Trust your intuition, don't look for blue chips CEOs to run your start up. What's looking great on paper might not be relevant to your business challenges.


A candidate can look really good and turn out to be a living nightmare. On the other hand, a candidate who looks bad can turn to be a real gem.
We all tend to underestimate the power of the look, the best way to recruit the right people without being influenced by the way they look is to conduct the first round of interviews on the phone.

To make it easier to compare all the candidates and pick up the best ones, try asking the same set of questions to each of them.

Only get the top half in the office for an interview. Make sure to get some feed back from the reception before letting them in for the interview and take notes of everything.
Pay a special attention to the motivations of the candidates. That's what will make them go out of their way to make things work.

When you meet a candidate who you feel is desperate for the job, get him to recognize it and tell you why. Don't reject such a profile because if you give them a chance they might remember you as the one who made him (or her) a success.
This type of situation can turn into a very productive work relationship as this employee will do everything he can to make it up to you.
