Who are the big dogs of the business in Vietnam?
Have you looked for recuitment agencies in Vietnam from
Google.com search engine? Basically all you will find in first page is Manpower Vietnam, Manpower Asia, and guess what? More manpower.com and so on.
Well I got news for you,
Manpower is not the only company doing business in Vietnam. In fact they are the latest of the international recruitment companies to start getting established in Vietnam.
What does Manpower do in Vietnam in 2011? Not much, they've got a few people in Hanoi, they do nothing in Saing aka Ho Chi Minh City and all you get from them is repetitive emails with wonderful job offers that have already been filled.
The other recruitment agencies in Vietnam, established for a longer time are:
Vietnamworks and ..that's it, really, if you leave on the side
Navigos which happens to be the parent company of Vietnamworks.
Difference between vietnamworks and Navigos: The first is a website set up a little like www.monster.com which allows you to create a profile and attach a resume, look for job offers through the customized search engine and get a lot contacts to work with.
The second, Navigos is more upscale, targeting a different market of users who are more networking and probably not in a rush to get in a new over the top position is a big company.
There are also other (smaller on the net) companies which seem to be thriving in this developing country (VietNam). Keep in mind that the recruitment business in Asia is booming since the average Vietnamese is becoming computer-literated and enjoys shopping on the net. All this goes very well with higher jop openings and increasing demand for english speaking employees.
Also, in Asia, most companies are looking for new employees in Feb / March of every year since employment contracts usually run from March to January and then are ignored during and after the Chinese new year.
